Case this sketch 178

When I saw this weeks sketch over at CASe this Sketch an idea popped into my head straight away!

I know someone who will be moving house soon ,so decided to do a card for her!
I did follow the sketch pretty closely just really popped a roof on it :)

As my friend is partial to a bit of DP paper (mine is from MFT) added that in her favourite neutral colours for the house. Looked a bit plain so added a (Slightly overgrown ) garden . The sentiment is a bit small I know but it says ' Home is where the heart is ' .
I'm hoping you have guessed who it is destined for Michele ???
 :)

Muse Dt 172

My turn again to be DT  at Muse ....the months are sure flying by!and I did a really simple layout this week but I love it! so far I have made a batch of these in different designs and hoping that it will inspire you too!
I started off by stamping a hero arts butterfly then coloured it with my old faithful chalks - yellow and blue, before punching them out with  SU punches.

I still have cards left over from the wedding invitations so as the layout is so simple thought the textured background would make it pop more ...maybe I should look for a linen look embossing folder!
I then stamped the sentiment with my Misti ( this is one tool I could not do without now!)
Finally I  placed them and added the bling .
Wonder what you will take inspiration from butterflies ?,colours? bling ? layout or whatever pops into your head !

Look forward to seeing you in the gallery -
and thank you for taking the time to look

MCV 50

I am delighted to see as our Guest designer over at the MCV challenge Elizabeth Stewart! She makes the most beautiful cards and this one is a Christmas stunner...look at all that sparkle ,whats not to love!
I found my eyes being drawn to the circles and how they all touched one another in some way ,the snowflakes and of course that sparkly paper.
I  punched the circles and die cut out 2 sets of  the snowflakes before fitting the white ones back in - boy what a fiddly job it was getting all the sparkly bits from the other set to fit inside the snowflakes (needed a glass of wine when I had finished!!! )
Using the sparkly set of snowflakes I then added them so that they touched their neighbours and finally stamped the sentiment in blue before heat embossing the sentiment in white on the vellum.I had hoped it would add a shadow to the embossed sentiment but unfortunately it didn't work :( but thanks for taking the time to look

MCV

This week our Muse is Cornelia over at MCV and she did a really fun card !!but I struggled with it I must admit would have loved to do a fun card too but mu brain and stamps refused to cooperate :( so this is what it came up with instead....
it followed Cornelias colours, her 2 stripey trees and wood grain -
and the one week where I decided that I couldn't possibly post another card with a small rectangle in the middle (think this is becoming my trademark ...but so frustrating that I cant stop doing it!!) Ardyth does a circle in the middle too! :)

Thanks for taking the time to look

Mcv and CASE this sketch

First of all I must apologise for just dipping in and out of blogland recently ,my friends wedding is taking up a lot of my free time, though exciting and great fun when I'm not with her I am either planning a few 'crafty' surprises (in more ways than one!) for her or working...

but today I woke up with a sore throat that just said to me have a lazy day and what better way to cheer myself up but to find that a card that I had started  yesterday actually would fit into 2! challenges.MCV   where I followed Chriss's penguins and colour scheme.

I started to by using rectangles leftovers from my wedding invitations of which I have many!

which reminds me I never  showed the quirky ones using paper smooches toast  that we came up with to showcase her partners poem....

....I think it all ties in together well after all it has been  a 24 year engagement!!

But back to my card ..I chalked the blue sky added liquid pearls for snowflakes and placed my fussy cut out mama elephants penguins (love them just soooo cute!)and placed them off the edge, added the sentiment and cut it to match the tag on CASe this sketch ,(which I seem to have switched the sketch to the opposite side oops)

Speaking of which I had the privilege of chatting  (thanks to my son showing me how to do 'face time' on face book!)with Michele Ferguson it was great to speak face to face and what a lovely lady she is and Tom her hubby too :) ...can't wait to do it again !!!
